Ordinary pads take structural fiber and welded wire mesh. Once the load turns genuinely structural, a shop floor, an equipment slab, or a pad taking a tractor, we move to a designed rebar grid and thicken accordingly. We tell you which side of that line your pad falls on and why.

Drainage and washdown planned in

Barn and wash-rack slabs have to move water on purpose, and every outdoor pad here has to survive an afternoon downpour. We set the fall, and where the use calls for it, the drains, so water leaves the slab rather than standing on it or running back toward a building.

Pads often have something waiting to go on them, so we give you a real date for placing the load, timed to the pour and the weather rather than to a generic rule.

How much does a concrete pad cost in Ocala?

Pads and slabs commonly start around $7 to $13 per square foot, with the spread driven by thickness, reinforcement, and how much base work the ground needs. A small AC pad and a shop floor sit at opposite ends of that for good reason. Access matters too: a pad a truck can reach prices differently from one behind a barn. We quote from the site, never a number over the phone we can't stand behind.

How thick should my shed, RV, or hot-tub pad be?

Four inches suits a garden shed or a light storage building. A hot tub goes to six because the load is concentrated and constant once it is full. RV pads go to six with attention to where the jacks land. Shop floors and equipment slabs get specified against the actual machine, not a default.

Do I need a permit for a slab in Marion County?

It depends on size, use, and whether a structure is going on top, and requirements differ inside Ocala city limits versus unincorporated Marion County. We tell you what we believe applies to your project and work to the requirement rather than around it. Checking first is cheaper than a correction notice.

Can you pour barn slabs, wash racks, and equipment pads?

Yes, and it is regular work in this county. Barn aisles, feed and tack rooms, wash racks, and equipment aprons each want their own answer on texture, fall, and drainage: an aisle needs footing that stays safe when it is wet, and a wash rack has to move water somewhere deliberate. Tell us the use and we will spec it for that, not for a generic pad.

Does a pad need rebar or is mesh enough?

Fiber and welded wire mesh cover ordinary pads well on our sandy, no-freeze ground. Structural and heavy-load slabs get a designed rebar grid and more thickness. Specifying rebar where mesh does the job is money in the ground doing nothing, and we would rather put that budget into the base.

How long before I can put weight on it?

Light use in a few days, full load generally around a week, with the exact date coming from your pour and the conditions it went down in. If something heavy is scheduled to arrive, tell us when and we will plan the pour backwards from that date.
